Congratulations to the Inaugural SMPREP Class of 2023
Congratulations to the Saint Monica Preparatory Class of 2023 who graduated Friday, June 9, in the school’s 85th Annual Commencement and first as one united TK-12 SMPREP. We celebrate all of our seniors on their many academic, athletic, artistic and spiritual achievements at Saint Monica and wish them continued success on their Mariner journeys! This year's graduating class of 102 students were accepted at competitive schools in California and across the country including University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Harvey Mudd College, Loyola Marymount University, University of San Diego, University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College, Boston College, Boston University, Wellesley College, New York University, Carnegie Mellon University, Fordham University, University of Oregon, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Arizona and more.
We welcomed back a distinguished alumna as Commencement Speaker, Alejandra Campoverdi ('97), a nationally-recognized women’s health advocate, producer and former Obama White House official. She inspired graduates on where their paths from Saint Monica Preparatory can lead. Alejandra produced and appeared in INHERITANCE, a PBS health documentary on breast cancer and BRCA awareness. While serving in the Obama White House, she developed and implemented its communications strategy toward the Latino community. Alejandra holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and graduated cum laude from the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism at the University of Southern California.
