Football Captain Commits to Idaho - Fall Sports Roundup

Congratulations again to the Barnes family and Mariner Football! Saint Monica Preparatory held a special signing ceremony for Team Captain Joshua Barnes, son of Coach Thomas Barnes, who will play for the Division I University of Idaho Vandals next season. Barnes led the team in receiving with 32 receptions for 812 yards and 10 touchdowns. Coach Barnes and his team captured the 2023 CIF Southern Section Division Championship Title, Mariner Football’s first championship win since 1998. The season was capped off with Coach Barnes named Coach of the Year, Wide Receiver Josh Barnes Offensive Player of the Year and Linebacker Dequan Carter Defensive Player of the Year for CIF Division 13.

Fall was a banner season for Mariner sports and all of our student athletes. Girls Golf were CIF Finalists, while Girls Tennis and Girls Volleyball also made the playoffs this season. The first year for the Lower School’s Cross Country team resulted in first and second place finishes. LS Girls Volleyball set records - the 3rd/4th grade team went undefeated and 6th grade went 7-1. The 5th/6th grade Flag Football team finished second in their division, while the first year of LS Cheer Team was a spirited success.

SMPREP students on National College Decision Day

Congratulations to our senior class on their impressive list of college acceptances. We’re excited to share that six students were accepted to Berkeley, three to the University of Notre Dame and five to UCLA. SMPREP's Class of 2024 also received yes decisions from the Ivy League, as well as multiple HBCUs and many prestigious, competitive private schools across the U.S. and internationally.

Performance of spring musical Mean Girls

Congratulations to all of our Saint Monica Preparatory artists from the cast and crew of the spring production, "Mean Girls: The Musical" to participants in the Lower School Talent Show and upcoming Illuminate Arts Festival, to filmmakers showing their short films at the first annual Saint Monica Film Festival. SMPREP students were also recently honored across multiple essay contents and festivals.
