Spotlight on our Lower School Student Leaders
This year’s Student Council president and vice president, Juliana K. and Sophie G., lead a group that meets weekly and typically plans and carries out one school activity per month for the student body, including special events, service projects and spirit days. Recently the Student Council offered Valentine’s Day Grams and a red/pink/white spirit day that raised funds for The Children's Heart Foundation. They also helped at the annual Pancake Tuesday breakfast, providing Mardi Gras beads and masks at the celebration the day before Ash Wednesday.
Later this spring, Juliana, Sophie and team will plan a pep rally to promote school spirit at SMPREP. Both students are eighth graders who love Saint Monica’s strong community. Juliana joined the school in middle school along with her two younger siblings and believes that, “every (community) member supports each other, encourages each other to excel.” Sophie started here in Kindergarten and adds, “Saint Monica has brought me endless amounts of joy and I want everyone to feel the way I do.” Middle School teachers Phil Dansart and Theresa Rentar are the Student Council moderators.
