Lower School Admission

The Lower School is designed to meet the needs of the student at each developmental stage - primary (TK-2nd grade), intermediate (grades 3-5) and middle (grades 6-8). From the first stages of primary grades where students develop their early literacy and numeracy skills, to middle school where a sense of agency over their education is instilled, Saint Monica Preparatory provides a comprehensive and seamless educational journey for its students.

Fall prior to desired entrance date

Applications for prospective new students entering Transitional Kindergarten will begin in the Fall before the year of intended enrollment.

December 15: Priority Application Deadline

Mid January: Families will be contacted to schedule student assessments and parent interviews.

Late January - Mid February: Student assessments and parent interviews.

Early March: Acceptance decisions will be mailed.

STUDENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Transitional Kindergarten

Applicants must be 4 years of age by the first day of school.
Transitional Kindergarten is part of Saint Monica Preparatory’s two-year Kindergarten Program and is offered half-day from 8:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. or full day until 3:00 p.m.
We offer a balanced academic and developmental program that is age-appropriate and socially/emotionally nurturing.
Students will be administered an entrance assessment to determine school readiness.

Kindergarten

Grades 1-8

Applicants must meet SMPREP standards in all areas: academic, social, emotional, personal and spiritual.
Students will be administered an academic entrance assessment to determine grade level readiness.
Students are given priority and considered for admission to grades 1-8 in the following order:

Academic and social readiness
Siblings of a student already enrolled in Saint Monica Preparatory
A registered and active parishioner at St. Monica Catholic Community
